Where is the Club?
We meet at the Asperger's Base at Budmouth Technology College, Chickerell Road, Weymouth view map every Saturday morning between 10.30am and 12.30pm, unless otherwise engaged in outside activities. (please see our planned activities page.) When you turn into the main entrance of the College, then turn right and go up to the far end of the car park. It is in the building that was once the Grammar School workshops.

Who is the Club for?
The Club is for school aged children and young adults, with Asperger's Syndrome or an Autism Related Condition (ASC), and their families. We serve the Dorset area and parents come from Weymouth, Dorchester, Blandford, Bridport and the surrounding area. All families are welcome who want to meet others who are also living with Asperger Syndrome .

When you say 'Families', what do you mean?
We are providing a place where whole families can come along and socialise with each other, and join in the activities if you want to. There is a 'cafe' area too.
We are very keen that brothers and sisters of ASC children feel able to come along. Not only can you take part in activities if you wish, you can also socialise with other children who have autistic siblings.

Who funds the Club?
We are constantly looking for continuing funding from a range of sources and a small  weekly fee is now payable for families of £3 on the door or £10 if paid monthly by standing order. This fee helps cover the cost of materials and building hire. The first visit is free of charge so come along and see whether the group and its activities are of interest to you.

The group is run by a management and steering committee of parents with excellent volunteer help from a local student in running activities and events.

What sort of activities will happen at the Club?
Many and varied. Our guideline is to provide activities which happen at a pace and level to suit the needs of the members, i.e. the ASC children and young adults. Our initial ideas include mini-aerobics, making and flying paper planes, running a Warhammer session, craft activities like making cards for seasonal events such as Christmas and Mother's Day, building a model railway, treasure hunts, board games...Football and outside games run every week (weather permitting!)
We hope to go on to introduce other activities such as network gaming, radio controlled car racing, trips out to the cinema, drama sessions, making musical instruments out of junk, basic cooking etc. We may from time to time arrange for professionals to give presentations and answer your questions. All this will develop over time and out of the needs of the membership. See our events list for upcoming events.
